Vision
Village Builder is a grassroots initiative dedicated to fostering community connections, and expanding community-led education. Our mission is to cultivate opportunities for collaboration, learning, and creativity that empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Currently, we are focused on establishing project sites and building a network of passionate builders across the Carolinas. Our leadership team is actively collaborating with Root Down Building Collective (RDBC) to engage the community in meaningful ways and to promote sustainable natural building materials. Over the next year, much of our activity will center on natural building—educating the public through the creation of art, outdoor structures, classes, workshops, and gathering spaces made with sustainable materials.
Village Builder is an open community network, welcoming individuals who wish to share their knowledge and skills.
As our village grows, we will expand our educational offerings to include a diverse array of offerings, such as: community building, permaculture, gardening, art, and mentorship.
By embracing the collective wisdom and creativity of our members, we inspire and support the development of thriving, resilient communities.

Project Sites

Village Builder is working to establish project sites around the Carolinas. Members that have building projects in planning and are willing to host others for community builds can request to add their site. Some project sites may only last until the initial project is completed, whereas other sites may become long-term classrooms.

Community Outreach Committee

Through the nonprofit, Root Down Building Collective, Village Builder is working with RDBC to form the Community Outreach Committee (COC). The COC is committed to develop resources and tools that empower our building community to connect, collaborate, and cultivate thriving local networks.
