About the event
In this workshop, you will learn how to make Cob Thermal Mass, Slipstraw Insulation, and Clay Plaster. You will connect with others, share stories, ideas, and take home practical skills to build your own oven, or apply these skills to numerous other projects! This paerticular oven will be built next to a community garden that is being restored. The oven will serve as a point of connection in the Long Creek Community, offer pizza party fundraisers to support local food security initiatives, and be the base camp for future low/no cost skill-sharing classes. Instead of selling traditional workshop tickets, we are asking for a sliding scale contribution between $20-$100 to help cover the cost of materials (about $500). Experienced builders, James and Amber will volunteer their time and expertise to lead the build. Please bring: -Shoes easy on & off
